General Responsibilities

Hours are Monday-Friday: 2:00pm-11:00pm

  1. Operate as a member of the Community Services Division team.
  2. Coordinate services and meals for participants, including intake and crisis intervention.
  3. Maintain safety and security through bag checks and operation of metal detector,locker searches, and monitoring.
  4. Respond to emergencies with immediacy using established guidelines.
  5. Provide screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral, and linkage.
  6. Communicate policies and regulations to participants and ensure compliance.
  7. Register participants and volunteers; maintain statistical records and documents.
  8. Assist volunteers with meals, hospitality, and program assistance.
  9. Enter accurate documentation into the HMIS system and support client progress.
  10. Provide outreach and daily support as needed to Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) residents.
  11. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred with preference in areas of the human services field. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
  2. A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing direct service in social work, crisis intervention, or counseling is preferred.
  3. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to work with individuals/families in crisis situations.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to work with persons from diverse ethnic, racial and social backgrounds.
  6. Ability to relate to individuals in a warm, non-judgmental manner.
  7. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  8. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be fluent in spoken English so that clients and other service providers can understand the case worker when advocacy services, counseling, direction, etc. are provided.
  9. Passage of complete background clearance and Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
  10. A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
