About the Role

Join Aristocrat as our new Director, APAC Tax, and be a key player in crafting the future of our tax operations across the Asia Pacific region! What You’ll Do

                                                                                              

  • Act as the primary tax expert for the APAC region, providing technical mentorship and interpretation of tax legislation.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor team members, encouraging their skills growth and business partnering.

  • Provide tax advice on business initiatives, restructures, new market entry, and cross-border transactions.

  • Support M&A activity, divestments, and post-acquisition integration and optimization.

  • Coordinate capital management initiatives, including dividends, capital returns, and intercompany funding.

  • Monitor and assess changes in regional tax laws, communicating impacts and recommendations.

  • Manage direct and indirect tax compliance for Australia and New Zealand, providing support to regional finance teams.

  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns, tax provisions, and statutory disclosures.

  • Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in line with local regulations and group policies.

  • Support compliance with OECD BEPS initiatives and other international tax frameworks.

  • Coordinate tax audits, reviews, and inquiries, taking charge of these processes in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Own tax governance, controls, and risk management frameworks.

  • Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.

  • Set clear priorities, drive high performance, and foster a strong culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in corporate tax compliance and tax provision within a Big 4 and/or multinational corporate environment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with law, CPA, or CA accreditation.

  • Strong technical expertise in Australian tax.

  • Experience in international tax or tax accounting is an advantage.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple central initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior collaborators in finance, treasury, legal, and commercial teams.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborator management capabilities
