Accountant General Ledger

Role Overview
The General Ledger Accountant performs general accounting activities, such as recording of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts related to Fixed Assets and Intercompany, in accordance with company policy and statutory regulations.
You Will

General Ledger
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts and submit reconciliation reports in Blackline system accurately and timely.
- Prepare journal entries, ensuring appropriate documentation and approval.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with other relevant employees to gather financial data and resolve accounting issues.
- Continuously improve processes related to general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
Fixed Assets
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness of asset data.
- Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments of fixed assets.
- Run and post depreciation entries in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
- Ensure all asset transactions are properly documented and supported.
Intercompany
- Prepare journal entries related to intercompany transactions, as assigned by the local Finance team
- Perform monthly reconciliation of intercompany confirmations and be able to resolve variance on a timely basis
Requirements
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, or related course
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
- Experience in the use of Microsoft D365, an advantage
- With at least 5 years of solid work experience in General Ledger under a computerized accounting setup; preferably in a Shared Service organization
- Hybrid with most of the time in a work from home setup
- Working hours is 3PM to 1AM supporting the UK and Europe business units
- Reports to the Shared Service Team Leader, with regular interaction with local Finance team
