Job Description
Do you have a sixth sense for sweetness and an eagle eye for perfection? Are you the type of person who can taste the difference between two shades of chocolate? If candy and confections are your passion, we’ve got a role that’s as sweet as sugar—literally!
Join us as a Quality Technologist in our candy-coated world of confectionery manufacturing!
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the site packing standards and product quality through application of line checks.
- Support the site sampling/ taste panel programme by collation/ preparation of samples. Review and collate the results and out of specification results are followed up.
- Manage the site incoming raw materials and packaging sampling/approval system and shelf life monitoring.
- To liaise with suppliers regarding raw material and packaging rejections.
- Support the maintenance of the site glass and hard plastic register.
- Oversee the site retained samples system.
- Assist in site customer complaint investigations as required.
- Management systems including system audits and HACCP audits.
- Support the maintenance of the site HACCP plan when required.
- Assist in the investigation of food safety and quality incidents effectively liaising with operations and engineering departments to identify causes and corrective/ preventative action to be implemented.
- Ensure paperwork is kept up to date.
Qualifications
Knowledge and skills
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and safely
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to be decisive and make quick decisions,
- Ability to work to high levels of accuracy
- Able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- A good awareness of computer based programmes such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Skills to support the role (not essential)
- Food Safety Level 2
- HACCP Level 2
- Internal auditor training
Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary - £25,857.12
