Procurement Specialist

Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and supplies needed for home remodeling projects. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory levels, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with installation teams, warehouse personnel, and the Inventory & Planning Manager to support efficient and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Vendor Management:
- Source and purchase materials and products required for remodeling projects, including windows, bathroom fixtures, cabinets, and hardware.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing, product availability, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value.
Inventory Coordination:
- Monitor inventory levels in collaboration with warehouse and planning teams.
- Place orders based on project timelines, forecasts, and stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet project deadlines.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
- Use ERP or inventory management systems to enter and track data.
- Provide regular reports to management regarding procurement activity, costs, and inventory metrics.
Cross-Functional Support:
- Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure material requirements are accurately communicated and fulfilled.
- Coordinate returns, replacements, or warranty claims with vendors as needed.
- Assist in evaluating and onboarding new suppliers based on quality, reliability, and pricing.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably in construction or home improvement industries.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of sourcing strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement or ERP software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and vendors.

Working Conditions
