Job Description

As Vice President, US Retail, you will be a transformative leader at the forefront of driving NIQ Brandbank’s accelerated growth across North America. This executive role is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies for revenue expansion, market penetration, and client excellence within the Retail vertical, including FMCG and T&D sectors. You will spearhead the strategic positioning and delivery of our Digital Product Content and Attribution services, ensuring we capture new opportunities and maximize value for both existing and prospective clients. As the primary executive stakeholder for our clients and business in this region, your leadership will be instrumental in fostering high-impact commercial teams, cultivating enduring client partnerships, and setting the vision that powers our ambitious growth trajectory. This is a unique opportunity to champion innovation, drive market leadership, and deliver sustained commercial success in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market landscape. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Revenue Growth/Client Acquisition
    • Design and execute high-impact strategies to identify, attract, and secure new retail clients across North America, driving significant business expansion and market leadership 
    • Provide visionary leadership and hands-on support to the retail sales team, empowering them to excel in prospecting, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value business deals 
    • Build and nurture enduring relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure sustained growth and long-term partnerships that elevate the company’s market position 
    • Set ambitious monthly revenue targets for NielsenIQ Brandbank’s suite of services, software solutions, and Label Insight offerings, consistently delivering results that surpass expectations
    • Analyze and optimize sales performance, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions to accelerate new client acquisition and maximize cross-sell and upsell potential with existing clients 
    • Partner closely with Sales Enablement and Marketing teams to develop and launch strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and deepen market penetration 
    • Collaborate with Customer Service leadership to align business objectives and key initiatives across all verticals, strengthening client retention and enhancing overall client experience
    • Lead Content Licensing revenue growth through strategic planning and flawless execution, working in concert with other Retail Leaders to deliver a seamless and consistent client experience across all markets
    • Develop forward-thinking strategies to penetrate emerging markets and verticals, expanding the organization’s footprint and unlocking new growth opportunities 
    • Drive continuous enhancement of NIQ Brandbank’s capabilities in the Retail vertical, championing product innovation, new vertical solutions, and professional services to accelerate revenue growth and deliver exceptional client satisfaction 
    • Work collaboratively with the Global Commercial Director to forge strategic partnerships within the market, facilitating accelerated client acquisition and unlocking new channels for growth 
  • Lowering Cost of Sale
    • Enhance the sales process to minimize client acquisition costs and improve operational efficiency 
    • Promote the strategic utilization of sales tools and technologies to optimize workflows and elevate team performance 
  • Delivering Highly Profitable Revenue
    • Target high-margin sales and key accounts to boost profits 
    • Guide the sales team to focus on offerings that support company objectives 
    • Apply pricing methods to increase margins while maintaining client value
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and support a team of sales associates, setting an example through your actions
    • Define performance expectations and evaluate regularly using SMART goals
    • Build a collaborative and high-performing team culture
    • Oversee all aspects of team management, including performance reviews and professional development
    • Serve as liaison between your team and other departments to identify and implement business improvements
    • Recruit new team members who align with business strategy and support ongoing growth
  • Strategic Planning:   
    • Make sure Account Development plans follow the OGSM template for all clients, coordinating with Customer Service to support growth and retention 
    • Build and manage relationships with NIQ stakeholders and peers to align strategies, agree on joint sales plans where relevant, and combine services for increased growth and collaboration 
    • Help create and execute the company's three-year business plan alongside the Group Commercial Director 
    • Provide accurate team revenue forecasts, maintain a strong pipeline to meet targets monthly or as needed 
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Group Commercial Director, Associate Director, Retail Sales, and PTO, to define strategies for entering new markets and verticals 
  • Performance Metrics
    • Meet monthly and annual revenue goals 
    • Increase new client acquisition and expand existing accounts 
    • Lower sales costs and boost efficiency
    • Improve profit margins and overall profitability
    • Execute strategic initiatives in line with the three-year business plan

Qualifications

  • Extensive people management experience, leading teams to achieve revenue and non-revenue targets, and conducting performance reviews 
  • Strong record of surpassing revenue targets and objectives
  • Proven sales expertise, consistently delivering results against KPIs and revenue goals 
  • Skilled in strategic sales planning, implementation, and pipeline management
  • Experienced with high-value clients in commercial roles, driving revenue growth through effective collaboration
  • Managed teams across various markets, demonstrating strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills. 
  • Organized, driven leader focused on motivating teams to excel 
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively with keen attention to detail
  • Interest in FMCG and eCommerce sectors
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; adept at networking 
  • Professional, articulate, and confident communicator at executive level 

 

Other: 

  • You may be asked to take on extra duties, either temporarily or permanently, if the Company considers you capable or provides suitable training 
  • This position requires adherence to professional, ethical, and health and safety regulations 
  • You might need to work outside normal hours and travel to clients or other NIQ offices, both within the country and internationally, when necessary
  • Based on your performance against revenue goals and related KPIs, this role qualifies for participation in The NIQ Brandbank Quarterly Sales Incentive Plan commission program

Additional Information

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range: $141,500.00 - $170,000.00. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
