Experienced Dog Groomer – Wags to Wiskers (Ludington, MI)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.00 an hour or up to 45% comission

We appreciate your passion for animals and support taking initiative, but this position is open only to experienced dog groomers. Candidates must have professional grooming experience in a salon or mobile setting. Bathing or grooming pets at home does not qualify. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform full-service grooming, including bathing, clipping, brushing, and breed-standard or client-specific cuts.
- Prioritize pet safety and well-being throughout the grooming process
- Build strong, positive relationships with pet parents
- Recommend appropriate products to enhance the pet’s care and appearance
- Maintain grooming area cleanliness, organization, and sanitation
- Use store scheduling and POS systems as needed
- Attend meetings and trainings
- Work collaboratively with the store and grooming team members
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on professional dog grooming experience required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Formal grooming education or certification preferred
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Comfortable using grooming tools, scheduling software, and basic computer programs
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active grooming environment with tubs, dryers, tables, and equipment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 45 pounds
- May require travel to other locations, meetings, or events, occasionally before or after store hours
- Variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required
- Must be comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Requirements
General: Formal grooming/safety training and a proven track record of success
Working Environment: This job operates in a grooming environment with grooming tubs, tables and dryers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a variable hour position, days and hours of work will vary. This position requires the flexibility to work within our normal store operating hours, including before and/or after hours and weekends. Overtime may be required at times.
Travel: Occasional travel to other stores, meetings and events, at times before or after hours, may be required.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items and/or pets up to and over 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years pet grooming experience
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Formal Grooming education or license
