About the Role

Description

Summary


Perform all warehouse responsibilities such as pick, pack and ship of goods; receive and inspect incoming products. Maintain a clean and safe warehouse. Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as pallet jack and forklift (must be forklift certified).


Responsibilities


· Pick, pack and palletize products for shipment; process required paperwork.

· Receive incoming materials and distribute materials to the appropriate department.

· Assemble boxes, print and apply labels, complete shipping manifests (UPS/FedEx)

· Pack-out bulk materials per defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Coordinate activities with Customer Service to meet customer requirements.

· Coordinate pick-up and shipment of goods with carriers.

· Utilize forklifts and various material handling tools in support of warehouse activities.

· Participate in all Physical Inventory and Cycle Count activities.

· Maintain accurate inventory and report on inventory levels.

· Perform other tasks assigned by the Manager.

· Promote, monitor, and grow continuous improvement initiatives.



Requirements

Skills, Experience and Requirements

· Maintaining a safe and clean environment in the warehouse

· Working with other departments to put away inventory

· Perform incoming visual inspections of materials and machines

· Must adhere to all Medical Packaging safety processes and procedures.

· Participate in Medical Packaging’s safety programs both mandatory and voluntary.

· Support and participate in Medical Packaging’s Document and Quality system programs

· Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and count (e.g. multiplication and addition)

· Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution facility is preferred.

· Knowledge of warehouse FIFO, lot numbering and inventory count processing helpful.

· Detailed and quality-oriented. Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures.

· Ability to perform basic computer functions as it relates to this position.

· Willingness to perform a variety of tasks assigned by the Manager.

· Able to multi-task.

· Must be highly detailed to complete documentation and tasks accurately and efficiently.

· Must be able to work well with others.

· Possess a positive attitude and the willingness to continuously improve and learn.

· Solid work history with good attendance.

· Must have a valid driver's license and car insurance as driving is a requirement for picking up and delivering parts in the company van.

· Must pass criminal background check, drug and physical screening.


Education and Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment


This job operates in a warehouse and clerical office environment with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses a forklift, scale, electric pallet jack and multiple standard pallet jacks. The role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.


Travel


Travel is not expected for this position unless offsite training is required.
