A complete break from the traditional method of selling storage, the Matrix is cost-effective and sustainable, radically transforming how energy customers can transact for storage, reducing the legal and credit costs inherent in the current approach for term storage. Matrix Commodity Finance structures and facilitates the sale of trade finance assets to diverse pools of capital through dynamic auctions. MCF is uniquely positioned in the global commodity sector and is highly regarded as a developer of innovative financial products and proprietary technologies, which are utilized by the largest multinational corporations, commodity trading houses and institutional buyers.

Data Center Network Engineer

As a key member of the team, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of advanced data center network solutions for customers. You will architect high‑performance infrastructures that support AI Factories, large‑scale accelerated computing, and enterprise data center environments.

In this role, you will also identify opportunities to improve technology adoption and provide feedback to both engineering and product marketing to help shape technical strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering expert Ethernet guidance throughout the customer engagement lifecycle—designing, architecting, and validating modern data center networks.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support server infrastructure, GPU‑accelerated workloads, and AI/ML deployments.
  • Creating and evaluating DevOps automation to streamline network operations, including configuration templates, deployment pipelines, and switch provisioning.
  • Implementing and validating network architectures across customer data centers, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Supporting customer design workshops, testing cycles, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).

What We Need to See

  • 5+ years of hands‑on networking experience, including Layer 2/Layer 3 fundamentals, Ethernet switch configuration, TCP/IP concepts, and data center architectures.
  • Proven ability to engage directly with customers to gather requirements, design next‑generation fabric architectures, and validate solutions via lab simulations or PoCs.
  • Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting VXLAN‑EVPN–based data center fabrics.
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Salt, or Puppet.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and optimize customer adoption and operational excellence.
  • Experience delivering knowledge transfer sessions, creating documentation, and supporting deployment handovers for customer engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; CCNP or equivalent certification is a plus.

Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd

  • Strong combination of customer‑facing communication skills and deep technical expertise.
  • Linux administration or engineering certifications.
  • Advanced networking certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, ACE‑E (Data Center focus preferred).
  • Hands‑on experience with Cumulus Linux / Cumulus OS.
  • Knowledge or certification in InfiniBand networking.
