Junior Financial Analyst
The Junior Financial Analyst supports cash flow planning and treasury operations through recurring cash reporting,
short-term forecasting, month-end cash validation, covenant monitoring, and timely issue resolution, while improving
forecast accuracy and supporting ad hoc analysis.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and maintain recurring weekly/monthly cash movement summaries, and support 13-week cash flow forecasting to assess liquidity needs, funding requirements, and short-term investment activity; perform daily cash positioning by reviewing bank balances and transactions to ensure adequate liquidity and proper funding across accounts
- Participate in month-end close cash validation and support cash flow forecasting/budgeting, while continuously improving forecast methodology and accuracy through partnership with AP/AR/FP&A, refinement of key assumptions and drivers
- Track and monitor compliance with banking covenants across all bank partners; maintain covenant schedules, supporting calculations, escalating potential issues proactively
- Support banking relationship management, including assisting with negotiation of bank fees, credit terms, and borrowing limits; gather supporting data and help prepare materials for periodic bank reviews
- In conjunction with the 13-week cash flow forecast, prepare recommendations on the allocation of short-term cash reserves to maximize interest earnings (e.g., money market rates across the banking network, CD laddering strategies)
- Understand terms of borrowing facilities to inform capitalization strategies and bank negotiations
- Participate in financial modeling for new initiatives, supporting cash flow impact analysis and scenario modeling
- Respond to ad hoc requests and provide reporting/analysis in partnering with internal stakeholders to research variances, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in FP&A, treasury operations, cash management, or accounting with significant exposure to banking/cash processes
- Experience working with banks and bank portals to support cash activity monitoring, issue resolution, and routine account maintenance
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Forecasting and planning skills, including variance analysis and assumption validation
- Advanced Excel skills to manage bank-export data, perform reconciliations, and identify variances using lookups, pivots, and structured datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred qualifications for this position:
- Experience with financial planning and budgeting platforms (e.g., Planful, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, or similar tools)
- Experience with Power Query/Power Pivot or similar tools for data transformation
