About the Role
Description
New Patient Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish Required)
We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) New Patient Coordinator to join our New Braunfels medical office team. This role is responsible for scheduling new patient appointments, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining referrals, and communicating patient financial responsibility prior to appointments.

Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain and process required referrals and authorizations
- Explain copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and patient financial responsibility
- Schedule and coordinate new patient appointments
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions or concerns
- Enter and update patient information in the EMR system
- Utilize insurance portals such as Availity to verify coverage and benefits
- Follow up on missing referrals, authorizations, or insurance information
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional patient experience
Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
- Experience verifying insurance eligibility and processing referrals
- Knowledge of copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and patient financial responsibility
- Comfortable using computers, EMR systems, and insurance portals
- Strong phone, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment
- Prior medical office experience preferred
