About the Role
Okie Staffing is seeking an experienced Working Foreman to lead and support field crews on erosion control and sod installation projects across the Tulsa area. This is a hands-on leadership role—you will direct daily operations while working alongside your team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
Projects include work with ODOT, Turnpike Authority, municipal, and commercial contractors, making this a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
Pay Rate $25.00–$30.00/hour (DOE) + Overtime
Key Responsibilities- Lead and direct field crews daily while actively working alongside them
- Manage daily production goals and job site priorities
- Assign tasks and ensure efficient workflow on-site
- Track employee hours and report daily production
- Communicate professionally with contractors, inspectors, and supervisors
- Ensure crews have proper tools, equipment, and PPE
- Enforce safety standards and company policies
- Identify and correct unsafe or inefficient work practices
- Train, mentor, and coach new employees
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, track loaders, front-end loaders, and brush hogs
- Execute erosion control measures including #sodding, silt fence, mulching, #hydroseeding, and dike installations
- Proven experience leading crews in #construction #landscaping, or #erosion control
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, loader, etc.)
- Valid Driver’s License #ClassA preferred, not required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Must provide professional references
- Background check (including E-Verify) required upon hire
- Experience working on ODOT, Turnpike, or municipal projects
- Knowledge of erosion control standards and compliance
- Previous experience in a working foreman or crew lead role
