Senior Specialist, Transaction Banking - Corporate & Commercial Trade Sales

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Specialist to join our Transaction Banking (TB) Corporate & Commercial Trade Sales team at RHB. In this role, you will be responsible for driving trade finance utilization and growth across an assigned portfolio of Corporate & Commercial Banking customers. You will partner closely with Relationship Managers (RMs), Product Squads, and Operations to deliver tailored trade solutions that address customers’ working capital needs, while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements set by Bank Negara Malaysia.
What you will be doing
Strategy & Planning
Build deep understanding of customers’ business models, operating footprint, and decision-making processes
Lead the identification of clients’ working capital needs, engage key decision makers, develop solutions, and drive end-to-end pitches
Plan and execute structured customer engagements to remain the primary trade contact for customers and RMs
Take full ownership of trade utilization and growth for the assigned portfolio (existing and new customers)
Sales & Marketing
Track bill maturity, plan calling activities, analyze and forecast portfolio drawdowns, and maintain up-to-date pipeline reports to drive deal closure
Build and sustain strong relationships with key decision makers within the assigned portfolio
Proactively drive utilization and implement strategies to revive and grow dormant trade lines
Promote and capture export business (e.g. LC negotiation/discounting), structure trade propositions aligned to global trade flows
Reactivate, convert, and onboard customers onto Reflex Trade Finance
Cross-sell cash management services and operating accounts to existing and new customers
Conduct or coordinate product training sessions and client engagement events where required
People & Stakeholder Management
Maintain strong engagement with CCM/GCBB RMs, Product Squads, and Service Partner/Operations teams to drive trade utilization
Provide market feedback on competitor capabilities, market developments, and product gaps to internal stakeholders for continuous improvement
Organize and lead regular account planning sessions and portfolio review meetings with RMs
Governance
Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s product guidelines, policies, and procedures as issued by Product and Policy owners
Comply fully with regulatory requirements and Bank policies, including mandatory e-learning modules such as Management of Customer Information & Permitted Disclosure, Personal Data Protection, Responsible Financing, Fair Treatment of Financial Customers, and Imposition of Fees and Charges
Ensure Pricing Variation and/or Operational Empowerment (OE) requests are submitted in line with approved criteria and business strategy
Maintain strong audit discipline and consistently achieve good audit ratings
What we're looking for
Proven experience in trade finance sales within Corporate & Commercial Banking
Strong understanding of trade products (LC, Bills, Guarantees, Supply Chain Financing) and working capital solutions
Demonstrated track record in portfolio growth and utilization management
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Commercially driven with strong analytical and structuring capabilities
High level of integrity with sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
Self-motivated, client-focused, and performance-oriented
