About the Role

Description

  We are looking for an experienced and driven candidate to join our Team as an Estimator! You will get to work with outstanding leadership and management to support our business! Our Estimator will prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals, requests, and requirements. This is a hands-on position accountable for developing and executing plans that will enable the Company to achieve its sales goal.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, and related documents.
  • Work with managers to estimate man hours for projects.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Will use P&L for updated pricing.
  • Contact subcontractors (i.e. crane companies) and vendors to get estimates to be included in quotes.
  • Match vendor payment and warranty terms to proposal terms.
  • Negotiate pricing, quality, and quantity terms with suppliers.
  • Develop market database to support pricing strategy.
  • Prepare job forecast by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and present weekly to management team.
  • Follow up on outstanding and lost bids.
  • Various inventory and purchasing functions.
  • Keeps fully informed of current developments in the wind industry, regulations, and Company procedures as they apply to assigned work areas.
  • Assist with sales and business development activities.
  • Work with Sr. Management to develop growth strategy and plan.
  • Close interactions with all departments within Company – Accounting.

Must always be on hand and ready to perform additional related assigned tasks.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, industrial engineering, or other relevant degree preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of estimating, project costing, or operations analysis experience preferred. 
  • Experience in wind energy, heavy equipment repair, industrial manufacturing, or remanufacturing strongly preferred. 
  • Understanding of the quote to sales to scheduling process.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines in a dynamic, high-growth environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, cost modeling), Word, and Outlook. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, detail-oriented, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team. 
  • Demonstrates openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability. 
  • Self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement of the business operations. 

Physical Requirements

This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates in an office environment. Specific physical requirements include: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  •  Required to travel up to 25%. 
  • Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less.
