This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
Providecritical support in the maintenance and synchronization of official military lexicons and publications. Primary focus is ensuring language used in strategic documents is consistent with the DoD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms and all publication data is accurate across multiple platforms, providing the “connective tissue” of doctrinal documents. Travel may be required.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Terminology Management: Familiarity with the terms found in the DoD Dictionary and the formal administrative process for updating or changing approved terminology. Monitor and apply changes to the DoD Dictionary; facilitate process for incorporating newly approved terms and definitions into active publications.
- Publication Support: Demonstrate working understanding of the doctrine development, and publication processes within a military or government framework. Assist in the doctrine development lifecycle by tracking documents through various stages of drafting, coordination, and final approval.
- Data Synchronization: Conduct rigorous quality control checks to ensure consistency of data, terminology, and formatting across related manuals, large-scale technical manuals, and strategic documents.
- Information Management: Utilize the MS Office Suite to draft correspondence, manage complex spreadsheets for tracking publication status, and create presentations for departmental briefings.
- Document Review: Identify and correct discrepancies in terminology usage to prevent "doctrinal drift" between Service-level and Joint-level publications.
Requirements
Experience Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Lifecycle Knowledge: A working understanding of the doctrine development and publication processes within a military or government framework.
- Quality Assurance: Proven experience ensuring data consistency between multiple related documents or large-scale technical manuals.
- Software Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint for data management and document production.
Education Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent in Business Management; Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related disciplines, OR
- No degree with 3 years of experience in the areas mentioned above.
Clearance Requirements: Possesses and maintain Top Secret Clearance (SCI preferred)
