What is the role of the Transportation Division? Our Transportation Division exists to deliver materials and equipment to our crews and customers. We have many different types of trucks to drive.

  

What is the role of the Transportation Foreman?  The Transportation Foremen oversees all field trucking operations within the Transportation Division, ensuring that driver performance, safety, and efficiency meet company and project goals. This role leads and supports BCC drivers, coordinates daily trucking assignments, and serves as the primary contact for maintenance and equipment issues. The Transportation Foreman ensures that all trucks operate safely, on schedule, and in compliance with company standards, while maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, mechanics, and project leadership to support overall operational success. (Reports to Transportation Superintendent)


Responsibilities & Tasks: 


· Serve as the first point of contact for drivers regarding trucks, safety concerns, and personal matters

· Lead incident and accident investigations within the Transportation Division and ensure all trucking incidents are closed out in XBE

· Monitor trucking activity in XBE, Samsara, and through on-site observation to confirm drivers are on time, safe, and efficient throughout their shifts

· Maintain a consistent presence at plants and job sites to ensure the safe and efficient movement of trucks

· Schedule and lead crew huddles to communicate updates, expectations, and safety topics

· Coach drivers in Samsara to improve performance and reinforce safe driving behaviors

· Order and maintain departmental supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels

· Monitor and manage tack material levels in the vertical tank and drop tankers as needed

· Coordinate preventive maintenance, fueling, and emergency repairs with the shop to minimize downtime

· Troubleshoot minor equipment issues to keep operations running smoothly

· Contact tire vendors for road call tire repairs and replacements

· Conduct regular inspections of trucks, equipment, and driver PPE use

· Enforce strict adherence to company policies, DOT, and FMCSA regulations

· Proactively identify hazards, address unsafe conditions, and ensure all trucks remain in safe operating condition

· Lead, train, and mentor drivers to ensure Banks trucks remain the customer’s first choice for trucking needs.

· Promote teamwork and uphold the company’s core values of Safety, Integrity, Team, and Excellence

· Oversee the overall movement of drivers, trucks and equipment within the Transportation Division


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating commercial vehicles (triaxle, lowboy, dump trucks, etc.) 
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a transportation or construction environment preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) compliance 
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor drivers while enforcing safety and company policies 
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, incident prevention, and compliance 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to coordinate daily operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and equipment utilization 
  • Experience working with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficient in basic computer systems (email, scheduling tools, reporting systems) 
  • Ability to conduct driver coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
