Role:

This position combines being a Teller and a Member Service Representative (MSR). Using Rogue Credit Union's Service Promises, builds long term loyal members by promptly and accurately processing members financial transactions and by identifying new/existing member's unique financial needs, suggesting appropriate products and services to meet those needs, opening new accounts, guiding members through the loan application process and assisting members with other needs as appropriate.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

40%    Assists members with all of their membership and account needs including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, travelers’ checks, transfers, etc. as directed. Processes closed accounts, opens new memberships, Certificates, IRA's, Trust Accounts, consumer loans and other account maintenance to existing and new memberships. Accurately maintains and balances cash drawer and daily transactions, promotes a needs-based sales culture by effectively cross selling credit union products and services to meet each member's needs.

 

40%    Assists new/existing members with their membership and account needs. Opens/closes memberships. Interviews members to determine their needs, suggests appropriate products and services, and opens deposit and savings accounts, certificates, IRA's, Trust Accounts, etc. Takes consumer loan applications and works with related support departments to best serve the members. Prepares related files/member documents, maintaining member confidentiality. Works to build the most loyal members in the nation.

 

15%    Promptly responds to members requests, questions, and concerns by finding the appropriate solution. Collaborates and assists with other departments/branches to maintain unsurpassed service across all areas of the Credit Union.

 

5%     Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned. Assists with specific branch opening and closing duties.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

 

Education: A high school education or GED.

 

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

 

Other Skills: Excellent communications skills- verbal, written and listening. Needs based sales and referral ability. Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under occasional pressure. Good eye for detail/quality. Good team player. Strong computer and 10-key calculator skills.

 

Physical Requirements: Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.

 

Work Environment: Normal workday with occasional overtime. Will require working Saturdays and a rotating, flexible schedule. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to other Rogue Credit Union regions may be required.
