About the Role

Description

  

To be considered for employment as a preschool teacher, you should have patience, compassion, and energy to successfully guide a class of young children, each of whom will have different needs, abilities, aptitudes, and emotions. The best candidate will also have excellent administrative and organizational skills, in order to plan curriculums and track data on each child's progress. It is preferred that you be a practicing Catholic, so you can share, and teach our faith with students.


Rate of Pay: $17 - $21 per hour depending on experience

Benefits: Part-time employees are not offered benefits other than what is required by law; Worker’s Compensation, FMLA unpaid leave, CO HFWA: 1 Hour of Sick Time per 30 hours worked

Normal Working Hours: 10 Hours per Week, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM during school year. There may be some opportunities for additional work providing aide to other preschool classrooms at the discretion of the Director of Pre-K.

Reports to: The Pastor, the Director of Pre-K, the Principal, and their representatives


Duties:

· Educating children about their faith, and fundamental concepts, such as colors, letters, numbers, and shapes.

· Encouraging social interactions between children and improving their self-esteem.

· Engaging in creative methods of learning, such as arts and crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.

· Planning comprehensive curriculums to address early childhood development needs.

· Instilling a sense of order and discipline in the classroom.

· Monitoring free time on the playground.

· Ensuring the classroom, and playground is a clean, safe, and organized environment.

· Preparing for lessons by gathering materials and setting up workstations.

· Communicating with parents to better understand the children's home lives and psyches.

· Maintaining data and progress reports for parents on each child's developmental progress for parent conferences.

· Nutritional support, setting up snacks, shopping for snacks, modeling healthy choices by eating with children at snack time.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Degree in education, with a focus on early childhood development, or have a level 3 credential in Colorado shines PDIS.

Experience working with young children in a classroom setting is a must.

Ability to communicate with young children at their level.

Patient, compassionate attitude, with a friendly, energetic disposition.

Good mediation and nurturing abilities.

Creative mindset with an ability to create memorable, out-of-the-box lessons.

Passion for shaping and inspiring young minds.

Familiarity with Gmail and google drive.

Ability to serve as a positive role model in language and spiritual development.
