Our Global Products & Solution (GPS) platform supports Structured Products, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Lending businesses, and we are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Product Owner in the Lombard Lending area to lead the delivery of our next-generation global Lombard lending platform in Zurich/Singapore.

Our Global Products & Solution (GPS) platform supports Structured Products, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Lending businesses, and we are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Product Owner in the Lombard Lending area to lead the delivery of our next-generation global Lombard lending platform in Zurich/Singapore.

Key features of the position

People management

  • Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment

  • Build highly impactful relationships with global and regional stakeholders across functions in the Bank

Client management (internal & external)

  • Collaborate with the front users to co-create a product that addresses real business needs, ensuring usability, and efficiency

  • Collaborate proactively with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure regulatory requirements such as portfolio risk are embedded into platform functionality.

  • Support change management, release planning, and compliance with firm-wide risk and regulatory standards.

  • Uphold integrity, due diligence, and fair dealing in line with Julius Baer’s values

  • Contribute to long-term software strategy and engineering culture within GPS

Business management

  • Serve as Product Owner for the digital Lombard lending platform, defining and prioritizing the product backlog for the digital lending platform, driving innovation while ensuring robustness, scalability, and regulatory adherence

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated cross-functional agile team, fostering self-organisation while providing clear direction, purpose, and priorities aligned to business objective

  • Apply in-depth knowledge/expertise in Lombard lending and credit risk principles—such as simulated forward-looking economic value creation through additional leverage and reinvestment into targeted Lombard financial assets, loan-to-value (LTV) calculations, haircuts, concentration limits, eligible collateral valuation, margin call mechanisms, stress testing and risk adjusted loan pricing—to define robust product requirements, ensure accurate system behaviour, and drive risk-sensitive enhancements within the digital lending platform.

  • Champion Agile best practices using SAFe and Scrum frameworks, overseeing sprint planning, backlog refinement, PI planning, and retrospectives. Ensure transparency via KPIs such as velocity, cycle time, defect rates, and feature completion

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

  • Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements

  • Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines

  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • IT project leadership experience in a larger scale being able to translate business process needs to IT architects and programmers.

  • Experience and focus on user-friendliness and usability of an IT solution from a Front user point of view (investment advisory, client relationship managers) which is newly created for client advisory purposes to facilitate sophisticated client discussions, monitoring pro-actively manage margin call related risks and to negotiate an appropriate loan priciong on a risk-adjusted basis.

Professional & technical

  • Bachelor or Master university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or financial industry related field

  • At least 5 to 10 years work experience in financial industry with knowledge in credit analysis, private banking, or wealth management, with specific focus on Lombard lending and financial collateral-backed loans.

  • Transformation project leadership experience in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams which delivered concrete results in transforming IT related changes into real business change success, both from a process and client advisory point of view.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in managing product backlogs, user stories, familiarity with agile methodologies. knowledge of product management tools such a Jira and confluence

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders

  • Strong analytical mindset with an attention to detail and ability to present complex information in a clear and structured manner

  • SAFe, Scrum (preferably)

Regulatory

  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations and requirements

  • Understanding of cross border rules and regulations
