Position Summary


Location: Maryville, MO
Type: Full Time | Rotating Shifts | Overtime as Needed

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports both routine and emergency maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and process systems within the facility.

This position requires hands-on work in a dynamic industrial environment and a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair three phase electrical systems, AC and DC systems, control circuitry, VFDs, and PLCs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems across plant equipment
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure production machinery operates efficiently
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime and protect the constraint
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and plant systems in accordance with company standards
  • Maintain plant utilities and facility systems through scheduled inspections and maintenance activities
  • Inspect building systems including heating, ventilation, and other facility infrastructure
  • Perform intermediate maintenance on rotating equipment including pumps, motors, centrifuges, valves, and cylinders
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of pump systems including chugger, vacuum, vane, pneumatic, positive displacement, and centrifugal pumps
  • Maintain working knowledge of plant systems including de aerator, nitrogen, chiller, air dryer, and wastewater systems
  • Prepare and support weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work accordingly
  • Participate in planning and execution of maintenance and capital projects including equipment installation and facility improvements
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, maintenance, and procurement teams to minimize disruption
  • Monitor inventory of materials, spare parts, and equipment to ensure availability
  • Complete work orders and ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Ensure completion and proper documentation of all records, reports, and inspections
  • Support and contribute to Process Safety Management and safety programs including Job Safety Analysis, Safe Work Permits, Process Hazard Analysis, and Pre Startup Safety Reviews
  • Ensure adherence to all quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform routine maintenance for company vehicles as needed
  • Assist in training and development of Level 1 Technicians
  • Complete all tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 or more years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience with electrical systems including 480V three phase systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in rotating equipment and hydraulic systems
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, controls, and instrumentation preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and climbing
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments for extended periods
  • Ability to work in environments with dust, chemicals, and industrial exposures
  • Must be able to perform duties while wearing required personal protective equipment

Working Conditions


This role operates within an active chemical recycling plant environment. Exposure to carbon black, hydrocarbon oils, and vapor streams is expected. Work may include indoor and outdoor conditions, elevated equipment access, and interaction with industrial processing systems.
