About the Role

Description

 Burns Scalo is seeking an experienced and analytically driven Asset Manager to work closely with the Chief Investment Officer in overseeing the financial and operational performance of the firm’s real estate investment portfolio. This role is responsible for financial reporting, asset-level analysis, underwriting, debt oversight, and cross-functional coordination to ensure optimal performance across stabilized and development assets 

Requirements

  Principal (Essential) Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare monthly reporting for Burns Scalo’s investment portfolio, including investment analysis, job cost reporting, bank draws, and cash flow forecasts.

· Provide accurate and meaningful financial reports and presentations to investors, lenders, and other third parties.

· Assist the CIO in managing the company’s portfolio of debt, including covenant compliance and lender coordination.

· Develop and maintain financial models to project cash flows, returns, and sensitivity analyses for existing assets and new investment opportunities.

· Participate in due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions, coordinating with legal, accounting, and external consultants to meet closing deadlines.

· Supervise all aspects of portfolio insurance, including procurement, claims management, and risk mitigation.

· Review and manage real estate tax appeals and tax abatements across the construction, and legal teams to align financial goals with operational execution.

· Conduct lease underwriting and tenant credit analysis, supporting the tenant pre-qualification process.

· Develop detailed underwriting models for new investment opportunities including acquisitions, developments, build-to-suit projects, and recapitalizations.

· Participate in special projects such as grants, special financing, tax credits, subsidies, and other capital initiatives.

Qualifications   & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree   in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s   degree a plus).

5–8+ years of   experience in commercial real estate asset management

Advanced   proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and   investment underwriting.

Preferred   experience with ARGUS Enterprise

Demonstrated   experience with lender and investor reporting.

 

Strong   understanding of commercial real estate financing structures, leases,   development budgets, and operating statements.

Excellent   analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

8. Proven ability to manage office operations independently, including vendor coordination, facilities, and internal processes
