Laborer - Striping (Experienced)

About Us

Thomann Asphalt,  a family-owned full-service asphalt paving company, has an immediate opening for an experienced Striping Laborer. We specialize in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, drain work, and site work, which includes a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. 

Essential Functions

• Prepare road surfaces for line striping materials- removing pavement markings from roadway surfaces.
• Operating line striping equipment and utilizing various tools of the trade to layout and stripe parking lots.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain tools or equipment.
• Safely operating trucks/machinery and hauling equipment to and from job.
• Follow proper operating procedures with all equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an outdoor work environment, in all weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. While in season the typical work week is approximately 50-60 hours.

Travel

This position may require travel and out of town work on occasion.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Striping
• High School Diploma or GED
• Equipment operating experience is a plus, specifically a skid steer
• Experience using a tape measure
• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen
• OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred but not required
