Purpose of Position:
The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for optimizing labor and all aspects of planning and scheduling work for the maintenance team. It is their responsibility to lead and manage the backlog, as well as develop a 6-week ready backlog inclusive of the onsite maintenance team and any contractors or vendors that fall under the scope of the Rochelle site. This individual will lead the weekly maintenance planning & scheduling meeting with a cross functional production team inclusive of supply chain planning, as well as manage the one year forecast of maintenance activities. This individual is also responsible for improving the planned work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Accountabilities:
- Manage the maintenance backlog in the CMMS and develop a 6-week ready backlog of planned work.
- Partner with the Storeroom Clerk to kit & stage the parts for planned work.
- Develop technical prescriptive corrective job plans to enable maintenance to execute and reduce human errors.
- Responsible to update and maintain the bill of materials (BOM) associated with each equipment center in the asset hierarchy, as well as the BOM task list associated with all planned work.
- Responsible for adding and/or removing equipment centers in the asset hierarchy.
- Manage parts spend to budget and accurately forecast maintenance spending.
- Assign and schedule preventative corrective maintenance workorders, work requests, and capitol/non-capitol projects through the CMMS.
- Must have the technical aptitude to continually evaluate and enhance the maintenance program for accuracy and validity by partnering with maintenance, OEM manufacturers, consulting equipment manuals, and communicating with operations partners to ensure the equipment is being maintained at a satisfactory level and all aspects of equipment are being serviced at the appropriate intervals.
- Monitor KPIs and communicate metrics in daily directional settings and monthly KPI review meetings.
- Actively engage and participate in the weekly all Del Monte Fresh Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MPS) team meeting where we design, pilot, and validate our MPS processes, as well as implement and execute processes on site.
- Engage and communicate with internal teams, vendors, and supplier representatives.
- Generate and monitor purchase requisitions and escalate to management as necessary.
- Lead and/or support internal/external regulatory and compliance audits and execute action items generated
- Coach and mentor site team members on the maintenance & reliability program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Skills:
- At least 3-5 years of related experience within a food manufacturing setting or comparable industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in applicable or related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong partnership with production planners, maintenance teams, and outside contractors will be required.
- Professionalism and strong communication skills required for day to daywork, as well as for frequent interaction, coordination, scheduling and planning with outside contractors and partners.
- Must understand and abide by HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs), and industrial safety practices.
- Experience leading maintenance departments.
- Knowledge of CMMS Inventory systems required.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks on a daily basis when required.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and coordinate will with others.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with a CMMS or PM tracking system preferred.
