As a Job Developer, your role is split between community networking and direct client support. Your primary goal is to develop competitive employment opportunities through relationship building and hands-on coaching.
Principle Accountabilities Include:
• Develop relationships with community businesses to facilitate employment opportunities for clients.
• Assist clients with job development activities, including but not limited to: filling out applications, interview skills, resumes, taking to interviews, and drug testing, etc.
• Assist in developing job shadows, internship, work evaluations and job placements, as needed: Provide training to clients who employed in competitive employment by providing the following training, Reinforces the essential tasks/duties/core skills of the job/business, Builds natural supports, Reinforces business culture and protocol to the student intern, Teaches safe practices according to the work environment, Models appropriate workplace behavior, etc.
• Assist clients in seeking accommodation on the job. Including but not limited to on-site job
• Provide educational and training sessions for businesses as needed.
• Be active in professional development/networking groups.
• Provide on-the-job support and follow-along support as needed by clients and businesses.
• Communicate with funding sources, parents, guardians, and other team members. May attend and provide input into client staffings as needed.
• Assist in referring to benefits counseling to identify how wages will affect current benefits.
• Track development activities.
• Monitor each client’s progression toward outcome/goal achievement, including documentation of client’s activities.
• Other duties as assigned
Schedule for this position is standard hours- Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with some evening and weekend availability, as required periodically, to meet client needs. Wage for this position is $16.25 – $18.69 per hour.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, preferably in human services, sociology, psychology, education, business, marketing, sales or business or two years’ experience in related fields
•Demonstrates professionalism in a variety of employment settings
• Ability to pass and maintain nationally recognized certification as an employment specialist within 24 months of hire.
• Experience with presentations, sales, or job development preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal formats
• Ability to make cold calls and be self-motivated.
•Ability to operate a computer and navigate through the Easterseals database. Experience in word processing software; Word and Excel preferred
• Ability to work with a variety of people, with and without disabilities
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift
• Have reliable transportation for work-related travel.
• Insurable under Easterseals vehicle insurance policy
•Certified in CPR, First Aid, and Relational Mandt training (or ability to obtain certification) within the first 90 days.
• Ability to successfully complete Mandatory Reporter training within the first 30 days.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours as required, including weekends and evenings.
The interview consists of 1st phone interview with the Recruitment and Talent Development Coordinator and 2nd interview with the Department Specific Team Leader.
