Paralegal – Transactional, Litigation & Practice Operations

Overview
McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a paralegal to support a Labor & Employment practice operating at the intersection of private equity transactions, high-stakes litigation, and real-time crisis management. This role functions as a central coordinator across multiple active matters and is best suited for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed professional who can manage competing priorities in real time and ensure that work product meets exacting standards. The position operates in a fast-paced environment with significant client exposure and requires comfort with rapid turnaround expectations and evolving priorities.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a central point of coordination across transactional, litigation, and advisory matters, managing workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Support private equity and transactional work, including organization of diligence materials, document tracking, and coordination of closing and post-closing deliverables.
- Assist with complex litigation matters, including document management, ESI coordination, and preparation of materials for filings, hearings, and trial.
- Support investigative and crisis-response work, including rapid organization and review of information under tight timelines.
- Maintain highly organized document systems across a large volume of active matters.
- Review, format, and refine client-facing work product, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and polished presentation.
- Proactively identify issues, gaps, or inconsistencies in materials and escalate them appropriately.
- Coordinate closely with attorneys and team members throughout the day to adapt to shifting priorities and urgent client needs.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm environment, with exposure to transactional and/or complex litigation matters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to independently drive workstreams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work product.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, anticipate needs, and take ownership of tasks with minimal direction.
- Experience supporting client-facing deliverables with a high standard of presentation and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines and evolving priorities.
- Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., iManage) and willingness to adopt new tools and technologies.

Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting private equity or deal-driven practices.

- This role is best suited for candidates who have previously operated with a high degree of autonomy on complex matters and are comfortable taking ownership of workflows in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
