Description
The Training Coordinator will support the team at Milford Mining Company Utah by organizing and administering employee training programs in a mining and mineral processing environment. This position is responsible for coordinating new hire training, tracking employee certifications, maintaining training records, and ensuring employees complete required and regulatory training. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple training schedules and documentation requirements. This role provides oversight of training processes within an operating copper processing facility, including employee training, regulatory compliance training, and ongoing workforce development.
The Training Coordinator will work closely with supervisors, department leaders, and the Health & Safety department to ensure employees receive the training necessary to perform their jobs safely, accurately, and effectively. This includes coordinating and supporting the delivery of safety training programs, regulatory compliance training, and site-specific safety initiatives while maintaining accurate training records and supporting overall compliance efforts. In addition, this role supports the development and implementation of process-specific role training programs and may coordinate broader workforce development initiatives, including apprenticeship programs, technical training pathways, and grant-funded training programs, ensuring alignment with operational needs and any applicable external requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and schedule employee training sessions, including job-specific, safety, and regulatory training programs, in collaboration with the Health & Safety department and operational leaders.
- Coordinate and administer workforce development initiatives, including US Department of Labor apprenticeship programs, technical training pathways, and grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance with program requirements, reporting obligations, and timelines.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and external partners, including educational institutions, workforce agencies, training providers, and grant administrators, to support training and workforce development program success.
- Build and maintain trust and meaningful relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Keep accurate training records, certifications, and documentation; track training completion; monitor expiration dates; and notify supervisors and Health & Safety personnel of upcoming renewals to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with department supervisors and Health & Safety personnel to identify training needs, develop training plans, and ensure employees are properly trained to perform their roles safely and effectively.
- Research, evaluate and coordinate external training providers, vendors, and instructors as needed, including those supporting safety, compliance, and technical training programs.
- Prepare training materials, presentations, and documentation, including sign-in sheets and supporting materials for both internal and external training sessions.
- Generate reports related to training completion, compliance status, and employee certifications, and support audits, inspections, and internal reviews by providing accurate training documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of training programs and procedures in collaboration with operations and Health & Safety teams.
- Support the development, implementation, and tracking of process-specific role training programs for operations, maintenance, and technical positions.

Skills & Competencies
- Ability to maintain accurate records and track training requirements.
- Ability to clearly communicate training schedules and requirements to employees, supervisors, and Health & Safety personnel.
- Ability to coordinate multiple training programs, including safety training, and manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to manage structured training programs and track progress against defined milestones and requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex programs with regulatory or funding requirements.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily within a combination of a sedentary office work environment with occasional standing and walking. May involve light lifting of files or documents (up to 20 lbs). Will also work in laboratory and mineral processing environments, working around operating equipment and varying environmental conditions including but not limited to uneven ground, fall risk, ascending/descending stairs, heat, cold, precipitation, dust, noise, and exposure to chemicals and slurry.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. Occasional standing and walking is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
The administration office hours are generally Monday-Friday from 8am – 5pm, and the work schedule will take place during these days/hours due to business needs.
Travel
Travel between buildings on the property may be required at times.

Required
- 4+ years previous experience coordinating training programs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Detail-orientated with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting or coordinating apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, or grant-funded training programs.
- Experience working in a mining or mineral processing environment.
- Experience using training management or HRIS software.
