Founded in 1989, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) is a modern and dynamic institution. We tailor our academic programmes to align with market trends and industry demands, ensuring our students receive a high-quality education and clear career pathways. As Hong Kong's first University of Applied Sciences (UAS), we are dedicated to pioneering the advancement of vocational and professional training, nurturing talent equipped with both practical skills and deep knowledge.
As a faculty-driven, student-centred university, we champion innovative teaching, strategic research, and impactful community outreach. We conduct research that both advances global knowledge and directly enhances our classrooms, focusing on strategic areas such as digital humanities and literature, international business, gerontechnology, personalised care, smart city development, open and innovative education, and bilingual learning.
HKMU is becoming an increasingly vital partner in helping Hong Kong address its most complex challenges, reflecting our deep involvement in and commitment to the metropolis. Furthermore, our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will allow us to cultivate the talent needed to serve both Hong Kong and the wider GBA region.
