Shipping & Receiving Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for fulfillment of client equipment and supply orders, and other warehouse duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the pick pack operations on the business line including but not limited to creating labels and return labels for Canada Post, Purolator, and UPS.
Manage the team to ensure that the orders are posted, and invoices printed using the NAV software.
Ensure that the picking and checking of orders are done according to standards and client pick-up and same day driver orders are correctly executed.
Ensure that the boxes are prepared on time for shipment on the skids and taken to the designated area for shipment in the warehouse.
Support transfers to the national pharmacies and provide necessary details to the inventory department containing detailed information about these shipments.
Ensure that the restocking of the shelves is monitored during the shift and at the end of the shift.
Take ownership of contacting Customer Service and Inventory departments for reviewing order discrepancies and issues and work to resolve them.
Manage the return process by contacting the respective department and ensuring the hand-offs are properly managed and closed.
Uses Inventory management systems to pick inventory.
Ensures inventory is maintained on the shelf for packing customer orders and shelves are properly labelled.
Regularly monitor the log for Corrective Action Request and identify the root cause/s with the team to put in place corrective and preventative measure for the identified issue/s.
Actively create and update SOPs for the warehouse process for the respective business line.
Manage the training of staff and actively work with team leaders from other businesses to cross train employees.
Have regular meetings with staff to communicate team performance, issues, and encourage improvement ideas using a communication board.
Train and delegate to other team members as necessary.
Ensure back-ups are well trained to take on Team Lead activities in the absence of the Team Lead and for business continuity.
Ensure there is coverage of responsible staff and leadership throughout the operating hours of the shift.
Collaborate with other business Team Leads to support staffing shortages and pooling resources to resolve challenges of the day/week.
Be an active member in problem solving and timely execution.
Share best practices with other warehouse teams.
Provide regular feedback to staff on team and individual performances and support employee development through coaching and proposing professional training as necessary.
Be a Role model of respect and professionalism when dealing with all staff.
Provide positive criticism when giving feedback to staff and fellow team members.
Actively support the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) program to improve employee growth, morale, communication, and experience.
Manage staff attendance and holidays planning schedule using a communication board and making it accessible for the operations manager to review.
Manage the weekly reporting of hours of staff for payroll submission.
Participate and or lead quality assurance activities as directed.
Take the initiative to cross train with Team Leads on the other line of businesses in the warehouse.

Perform general housekeeping duties in the warehouse and ensure the work environment is clean and hazard free.
Be ready to learn new technology to meet the new business needs.
Nice to have forklift experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Responsibilities Specific to Warehouse and Dex Staff are as follows:
• Willingness to work for extended periods in cold environments (walk-in coolers) while handling and packaging pharmaceutical products.
• Ability to maintain focus, attention to detail, and adherence to GMP or applicable regulatory guidelines, while working in temperature-controlled settings.
• Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks in cooler conditions, including the use of appropriate PPE.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE)
· College or a High School diploma or equivalent.
Other Skills and Abilities
· Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
· MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Ability to organize workload for efficient use of time.
· Ability to function independently.
· Familiarity with Good Manufacturing (GMP) or applicable Regulatory Guidelines, particularly regarding temperature-controlled storage and handling of pharmaceutical products (a must requirement for Warehouse and Dex employees).
· Employees working in warehouse operations are required to wear and properly use all essential or required personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined by their department leader and in accordance with the employer’s safety requirements. This obligation applies to current PPE requirements and any future revisions necessary to maintain compliance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation and regulations.
Work Environment
· The employee may be exposed to toxic and caustic chemicals.
· The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· Weekend and evening work may be required.
