Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an onsite full-time Construction Manager – at the VA Northern California HCS (VANCHCS) in Martinez, CA. 


This position serves as Owner’s Representative supporting the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades project. 

Requirements

  

  • Working knowledge of construction practices, materials, and typical commercial/institutional building operations. 
  • Understanding of low-voltage systems, telecommunications infrastructure, structured cabling, fiber optic infrastructure, IDF/MDF room construction, or related technology systems is a plus. 
  • Have an ability to review and evaluate schedules, submittals, RFIs, proposed changes and contractor documentation and prepare clear written reports, deficiency logs, and field observations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards as they relate to contract compliance. Ability to proactively notify the Government of any violations and/or potential impact. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common software applications to monitor progress, update records, and produce work deliverables. 
  •  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and maintain professionalism in active construction environments. 

Relevant Experience

   

  • Experience performing Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), inspection, or construction management activities related to contractor compliance with contract documents, specifications, and approved submittals. 
  • Experience preparing daily reports, inspection reports, and written analyses related to RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, and QA/QC observations. 
  • Experience reviewing baseline and progress schedules, identifying potential delays or sequencing concerns, and providing recommendations to the Owner. 
  • Prior experience supporting healthcare, federal, VA, or other complex institutional construction projects is helpful. 
  • Familiarity with occupied renovation, shutdown coordination, or stakeholder coordination within active facilities is a plus. 

Educational Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant construction management, quality control, or related industry experience required.

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ladders, and access construction personnel hoists.
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including uneven surfaces and partially completed work areas. 
  • Regular exposure to construction environments with moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, airborne particles or fumes, outdoor weather conditions, and potential electrical hazards.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment weighing 10–25 lbs. required.
