About the Role

Description

The Position: 


As an Event Cook/Chef for Fireside Catering you will assist or lead in the preparation, cooking and plating of delicious meals for a wide variety of events with unique menus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a creative mindset, and excellent attention to detail. Part-time hours available in a fun and fast-paced environment. This is an hourly position.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work as a team with other kitchen staff members efficiently and effectively 
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines 
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items  
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors 
  • Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly 

Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. 
  • Experience in a professional kitchen 
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed 
  • Take pride in your job – We use ingredients from our own farm, The Farm at Gibbet Hill and many local vendors. 
  • Strong communication skills, ability to follow direction and ability to work in a fast paced team environment
