About the Role

Research and Evaluation Data Entry Associate (Summer 2026)

The Fresh Air Fund is a youth development organization providing transformative outdoor experiences, at no cost, for New York City children from underserved communities. At six sleepaway camps in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, children have new experiences, learn new skills and gain new perspectives. Youth also participate in year-round leadership, career exploration and educational programs.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Associate to support our program evaluation efforts. This role primarily involves manually entering paper-and-pencil survey data into SurveyMonkey and other online survey platforms to help assess the impact of our summer programs.

This is a short-term, part-time position based in our New York City office. This role reports to the Director of Research and Evaluation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assistwith organizing survey materials and preparing batches of surveys for entry
  • Accurately input survey responses from paper forms into SurveyMonkey
  • Ensure data integrity by reviewing entries for errors and inconsistencies
  • Organize and track completed surveys for processing
  • Assistwith basic data cleaning and verification as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive participant information responsibly
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or set to begin an undergraduate program in the fall
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with data entry or administrative work (preferred but notrequired)
  • Familiarity with SurveyMonkey or other online survey platforms is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to the mission of youth development and equity

Location: 633 3rd Avenue, 14th Floor, NYC, NY 10017 (In-person) 
Duration: June 29, 2026 – August 31, 2025 (Approx. 9 weeks) 
Hours: Up to 30-35 hours, 4-5 days per week (flexible days/hours based on weekly data collection schedule, to be worked out with supervisor in advance) 
Compensation: $17/Hour
