Parts Counter Specialist

Role Overview

The Parts Counter Specialist plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting parts sales, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. This position requires strong product knowledge, technical aptitude, and the ability to build lasting relationships with both customers and internal teams.

Training & Development Path

0–3 Months (Foundation)

  • Complete  onboarding and required safety training 
  • Learn dealership systems, parts lookup tools, and workflows 
  • Shadow experienced team members at the counter 
  • Begin Kubota and Stihl required training programs 
  • Develop basic product knowledge and customer interaction skills 
  • Understand inventory processes and daily operations 

3–6 Months (Proficiency)

  • Independently  assist customers with standard parts requests 
  • Demonstrate  accuracy in parts identification and order processing 
  • Continue and complete required manufacturer trainings 
  • Build  familiarity with inventory management and stocking procedures 
  • Strengthen problem-solving skills for customer needs 
  • Begin contributing to team efficiency and workflow improvements 

6+ Months (Advanced Performance)

  • Operate  independently with strong product and system knowledge 
  • Handle complex customer requests and technical inquiries 
  • Serve  as a resource for newer team members 
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience 
  • Maintain full compliance with Kubota and Stihl training requirements 
  • Consistently meet or exceed performance expectations 

  


Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • 2+ years of experience in parts counter sales or related field 
  • Completion of required Kubota Parts training 
  • Completion of required Stihl Parts training 

Physical Requirements 

This role requires regular physical activity, including:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (up to 60+ lbs occasionally) 
  • Frequent reaching, handling, and keyboarding 
  • Standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday 

Work Environment

  • Exposure to shop and warehouse conditions, including dust, noise, fumes, heat, and cold 
  • Combination of indoor counter work and warehouse movement 
  • Condition is generally safe and controlled, with occasional exposure to environmental elements 

Schedule & Attendance

  • Full-time position 
  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating Saturday shifts during harvest seasons
  • Attendance is essential to support business operations and customer needs
