About the Role

[What the role is]

Calling on aspiring Singaporean scholars in economics, history, political science, international relations, sociology, anthropology, and other relevant social sciences subjects – the ISEAS PhD Scholarship is now open for application

[What you will be working on]

ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute invites PhD scholarship applications for the following areas of study:

Economics, History, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Anthropology, and other relevant social sciences subjects

Terms of Awards:

  • The scholarship is tenable at reputable universities overseas or in Singapore
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees
  • Monthly maintenance allowance
  • Conference/Fieldwork allowance
  • Medical insurance
  • Return air passage (if applicable)
  • Preliminary expenses
  • Successful candidates will serve a five-year bond with ISEAS following the completion of their studies

Eligibility:

Candidates should:

(a) Be Singapore citizens;

(b) Have consistently good academic records; and

(c) Be prepared to carry out applied and policy-related research on Southeast Asia

(d) Preference will be given to candidates who have already been accepted for admission into reputable universities.

Requirements

Interested applicants must submit

i) a cover letter,

ii) full CV,

iii) sample of academic writing,

iv) three letters of reference,

v) educational certificates and transcripts,

vi) a research proposal including a statement on why it is important to ISEAS, and,

vii) a passport-sized photograph.
