Job Description:
The European Regulatory Manager leads the development and execution of regional regulatory strategies for pesticide active ingredients and formulated products, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality submissions and enable successful registrations while also maintaining effective engagement with regulatory authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead the European regulatory activities for assigned active ingredients and plant protection products
· Develop and implement regulatory strategies that align with commercial objectives
· Plan and actively manage the preparation of high-quality regulatory submissions
· Work closely with in-country regulatory managers to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
· Partner closely with Development and Commercial functions
· Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of EU regulatory requirements
· Provide regulatory expertise and foresight to internal stakeholders to support project and commercial decisions
· Responsible for managing regulatory project budgets
· Represent Gowan externally with regulatory authorities, task forces and industry associations
· The role may include the provision of regulatory support for active ingredients/products in other parts of the world
Education and Experience:
· Minimum degree level education in chemistry, biology, toxicology, agronomy or a related science
· At least 5 years regulatory affairs experience in the plant protection industry managing European level regulatory projects (e.g. AI Renewal, New AIs, EU MRLs, zonal product dossiers)
· Experience of working with pesticide regulatory systems in other parts of the world would be advantageous
Knowledge and Skills
· Fluent written and spoken English is essential with a second European language desirable
· An in-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements, procedures and policies for pesticides and plant protections products at a European and country level
· Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal, advocacy and communication skills
· Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Self-organised and skilled at project management
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Job Expectations
· Travel: Up to 10% of the time
