We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Receiving Inspector to join our team. This position plays an important role in the front-end quality and material control process by verifying incoming parts, reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies, creating and processing repair records, and supporting the accurate movement of components through our facility.
The ideal candidate will have aviation material experience (preferred), strong attention to detail, computer/ERP system experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced repair station environment.
Position Summary
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting, verifying, documenting, and processing incoming aircraft components, parts, materials, and customer units in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. This role supports receiving, shipping, inventory movement, work order creation, purchase order/repair order processing, and coordination with Quality, Production, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Shipping departments.
The Receiving Inspector helps ensure that parts and components entering the facility are properly identified, documented, protected, routed, and controlled before being released into the repair process.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive, unbox, and inspect incoming aircraft components, landing gear assemblies, piece parts, materials, and customer units in accordance with company receiving procedures.
· Verify part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, condition, markings, traceability, customer paperwork, shipping documents, purchase orders, repair orders, and other applicable documentation.
· Perform preliminary visual inspections for obvious damage, shipping damage, improper packaging, missing documentation, incorrect part identification, or other discrepancies.
· Review certificates, tags, customer documents, vendor documents, and supporting paperwork to confirm compliance with company, customer, FAA/EASA, and internal quality requirements.
· Create, update, and process records in Quantum or other applicable ERP/business systems.
· Create and support Repair Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, receiving records, and related documentation as required.
· Photograph incoming units, parts, packaging, and/or discrepancies when required and attach documentation to the applicable work order or system record.
· Scan, upload, file, and maintain receiving documentation in accordance with company procedures and record retention requirements.
· Identify and communicate receiving discrepancies, documentation issues, damaged parts, missing information, or customer/vendor concerns to the appropriate department.
· Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to resolve receiving issues and release units into the repair process.
· Route accepted parts, units, and materials to designated inspection, production, quarantine, hold, stock, or staging areas as required.
· Maintain proper storage, segregation, labeling, and handling of components, materials, and documentation.
· Support customer holds, quality holds, engineering holds, material holds, and other controlled status conditions.
· Assist with shipping and outbound processing as needed, including verification of part numbers, documentation, packaging, shipping instructions, and carrier coordination.
· Load, unload, move, and stage parts, crates, pallets, and materials using proper material handling methods.
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment when authorized and required.
· Support inventory audits, cycle counts, warehouse organization, and general material control activities.
· Handle urgent internal and external customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
· Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and compliant work area.
· Follow all company policies, quality procedures, safety requirements, environmental requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within Receiving, Shipping, Quality, and Operations.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, aviation materials, inspection, logistics, or a related technical environment preferred.
· Aviation parts, component, MRO, repair station, or aerospace material experience preferred.
· Basic understanding of part numbers, serial numbers, material traceability, shipping documentation, and receiving inspection practices.
· Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and general data entry.
· Ability to read, understand, and process shipping documents, purchase orders, repair orders, work orders, certificates, tags, and basic technical documentation.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation errors, part discrepancies, and visual damage.
· Ability to communicate professionally with internal departments, customers, vendors, and carriers when required.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
· Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
· Ability to follow written procedures, verbal instructions, and company quality requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience working in an FAA Part 145 repair station, aviation MRO, aerospace warehouse, or component repair environment.
· Experience using Quantum or another aviation ERP/MRP system.
· Forklift or powered industrial truck experience.
· Experience creating or processing Repair Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Orders or receiving transactions.
· Knowledge of FAA/EASA documentation, traceability, component tags, certificates, and aviation material control.
· Hazmat, HAZCOM, or general hazardous material shipping/handling knowledge.
· Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, shipping coordination, and material staging.
· Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced repair station and warehouse environment.
Work Environment
This position is performed on-site in a repair station, receiving, warehouse, and production-support environment. The role may require interaction with aircraft components, landing gear assemblies, crates, pallets, shipping materials, documentation, ERP systems, and multiple internal departments.
