About the Role

Description

Champion the User. Simplify the Complex. Own the Outcome.

At Valiant Residential, we’re looking for a Product Owner who doesn’t just manage backlogs—you champion the user, simplify the complex, and deliver products that teams actually want to use.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, user experience, and technology execution, partnering closely with operational leaders, corporate and onsite teams, and technical resources to define, optimize, and scale solutions that work for the people who depend on them every day. You’ll own designated product focus areas, driving the review, definition, and optimization of systems and processes to ensure they are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

This isn’t a passive role. You’re a user-first owner-operator—someone who sees friction before others feel it, eliminates complexity instead of explaining it, and turns business needs into intuitive, scalable products. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how Valiant’s communities and corporate teams experience our technology.

We Are Valiant

With over 37 years of experience, Valiant Residential is a next-generation property management leader, uniquely attuned to the needs of property owners and residents. We are driven by a Valiant Spirit—bold, innovative, and committed to excellence—fostering prosperous partnerships and long-term success. Our team thrives on collaboration, integrity, and strategic thinking, making a meaningful impact in the industry.

Why Work at Valiant?

At Valiant Residential, we don’t just offer jobs—we build careers. Consistently ranked as a “Top Place to Work,” we are a leader in the property management industry, driven by bold, innovative professionals who make an impact.

We believe in rewarding great work with competitive total compensation and time off with comprehensive benefits, including free health insurance options and 401(k) matching. Growth isn’t just encouraged—it’s expected. With career development opportunities, a collaborative culture, and a commitment to innovation, we empower our employees to thrive.

What You’ll Own & Drive

  • Define the product vision — Set and communicate a clear product vision aligned with Valiant’s business goals and operational priorities
  • Build and maintain the roadmap — Develop and maintain product roadmaps for assigned focus areas that turn priorities into deliverables
  • Translate business into action — Convert business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
  • Optimize for the user — Evaluate current systems, workflows, and tools to identify inefficiencies and design streamlined, user-friendly experiences
  • Apply a user-first mindset — Assess every process through the lens of the end user, ensuring clarity, simplicity, and ease of navigation
  • Eliminate complexity — Reduce friction points and create intuitive workflows for onsite teams, corporate users, and external stakeholders
  • Champion the voice of the user — Actively seek to understand challenges, behaviors, and needs across all user groups, and ensure product changes are designed to be easy to adopt
  • Drive cross-functional alignment — Partner with operations, HR, marketing, finance, training, and technology teams to gather requirements and align priorities
  • Stay current on platforms — Monitor vendor releases, software updates, and roadmap changes for the technology within your product scope; evaluate impact across internal teams, roles, and departments, plan adoption, and prepare users for what's changing
  • Bridge business and technical — Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clarity and execution
  • Deliver and accept the work — Monitor development progress, remove roadblocks, and review completed work against defined standards and expectations
  • Measure user impact — Assess how system changes and updates affect users across the organization, from onsite teams to residents and clients
  • Iterate with intent — Use data, stakeholder feedback, and performance metrics to inform decisions and prioritize enhancements
  • Own outcomes—not just output — Drive accountability for results, adoption, and continuous improvement across your product focus areas
