About the Role

Description

Primary Summary:

Responsible for assisting the branch manager in the overall management of the branch – may step in for Branch Officer in their absence. Individual supports efforts to maximize revenue, sales, customer satisfaction, and minimize operational losses as well as deepening existing relationships and minimizing customer attrition. Contributes to the implementation of promotional campaigns and product initiatives at the branch level.

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

· Assist in managing the overall daily activities of the branch including: directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Assist with daily branch scheduling of staff. Participate in performance reviews with guidance of the branch officer.

· Conduct all member account functions, including teller transactions, processing request for new services, providing counseling and cross selling appropriate products or services to benefit the member and achieve established sales goals, interview members and process applications for all types of credit cards and consumer loans, assist in closing both consumer and home equity loans. Review all documentation for completeness and accuracy according to the organizations compliance guidelines.

· Support development of account relationships with commercial business customers. Participate in personal calls/visits, assessing needs and offering products/services to meet those needs.

· Represent the organization as appropriate in its relationships with sponsor and community organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions and similar groups including occasional functions outside normal business hours.

· Help ensure that all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day. Assist in resolving balancing problems.

· Ensure members’ requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handle members’ complaints effectively in the absence of the branch officer.

· Assist in conducting required security meetings with staff to ensure compliance. Open and close the building in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment monthly.

Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

Experience

1 – 2 years previous financial institution experience preferred.

Minimum of 2 years supervisory skills required.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

GED preferred.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills in both dealing with members and colleagues.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms.
  • Sustains repetitive motions while using computer keyboard. Close vision for the computer screen is also required.
  • Bends, stoops, kneels, pushes and pulls while filing or moving supplies.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
