Type: Full-Time, non-exempt
CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association) is a dynamic nonprofit on a mission to empower communities and fight poverty. We are looking for a Training Specialist to join our Energy Services Department and support the development of high-quality training programs for staff and partner sites.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs for internal staff and external partners.
- Conduct Partner Site Intake training programs, including registration, instruction, and testing.
- Deliver training aligned with organizational goals and program requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess evolving training needs as policies and procedures change.
- Develop training materials, job aids, and multimedia presentations.
- Support the creation of testing and certification processes.
- Maintain training records and complete required documentation and reports.
- Monitor compliance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Conduct post-training surveys and gather feedback from participants.
- Provide “Train the Trainer” sessions to team leads and coordinators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Associate’s degree or at least 3 years of experience in a customer service or training-related environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with learning management systems and web-based training tools
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in a nonprofit organization
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and training tools
- Ability to translate complex program requirements into effective training
- Ability to travel frequently within Cook County and occasionally beyond
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
