The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and reliable financial records and procedures of Spooky Nook Sports and related entities; ensuring that company assets are adequately safeguarded, and financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and US Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).

Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate and maintain the general ledger close and reconciliation process to ensure accuracy of financial records and reports
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and narratives, variance and analytical reports, depreciation and amortization schedules and regulatory filings for internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as backup to the Payroll Specialist
- Administer annual budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with corporate goals and support of budget managers
- Coordinate and assist with annual audits with external accountants
- Provide exceptional customer service to department managers with financial and budget requests
- Collaborate with other departments through financial analysis, reports, and recommendations
- Develop and maintain effective systems and controls to safeguard financial assets
- Responsible for understanding key operational processes, accounting best practices, and use of technology to minimize risk, reduce costs, and improve organizational processes
- Ensure compliance of governmental and other organizational regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have dependable transportation to and from work
- Ability to ready, speak and understand the English language
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with accounting standards (GAAP), financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, accounting, and business operations with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- Proficient with utilization of ERP accounting and other business systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced experience with Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to discreetly handle confidential information
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Working Conditions
- Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending and lifting, talking on the phone and sitting for long periods of time while typing at a computer
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
