Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
As a VFX Artist, your main responsibility is to implement, under supervision, video game special effects in accordance with a project’s artistic direction and production deadlines. With strong artistic skills and an understanding of the technical constraints on the target platforms, you will be in charge of gameplay, environmental and UI effects.
What it means on a daily basis
- Designing and creating:
- 3D VFX
- 3D/vertex animation
- Shaders adjustments
- Procedural simulations
- Dynamic simulations
- Particle systems, textures and models
- Fluid systems
- Lighting and rendering FX elements and producing composites to showcase ideas and concepts
- Providing creative artistic solutions and exploring new styles.
- Ensuring that the high quality bar established by the Art Director, Studio Lead Artist, and Producers are reached and maintained.
- Providing technical support and problem solving whenever required.
- Assisting in setting up or maintaining a library of effects presets which can be loaded and applied across an entire game or a selection of several games.
Who you would be working with
- You will report to Lead Producer and Artist Lead/Supervisor.
- You will work closely with 2D Artists, 3D Artists and other functions in the team.

Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Solid VFX experience in a game production pipeline
- Master 3DS Max or Maya visual effects systems and basics with modeling, rigging and animation systems (Houdini or Blender experience can be considered)
- Competent understanding of style guidelines, design process and creative workflow.
- Competent understanding of Sprite creation, Visual Feedback, timings and Effects animation.
- Strong knowledge and sense of color, design, perspective and composition.
- Good level in drawing and illustration skills (relief, lighting, materials, perspective, colors...)
- Competent at research and development
- Proficiency in Photoshop, After Effects, and equivalent tools
- Basic English skills
