About the Role

Description

  • Responsible for greeting customers, scheduling appointments, receiving/routing telephone calls, verifying patient information, & collecting payments.
  • Captures/records vital signs: blood pressure; weight; height; heart rate; temperature; respiration; O2 saturation.
  • Updates patient medical history; weight changes; surgeries; medications; diagnoses; allergies; concerns; births; deaths; family medical history.
  • Follows nursing process for assessments, planning, intervention, & evaluation, including physical/psychosocial needs of patients.
  • Practices within scope/standards of care.
  • Performs general nursing care; vital signs, immunizations, wound care, administration of medications/treatments, and assists with clinical procedures, under the supervision of the physician.
  • Assists with clinical procedures: prepares instruments; seals/labels specimen samples; performs wound care including applying/removing bandages, cleansing, flushing, applying medication; suture removal; and immunizations.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalency.
  • Medical Assistant Certification/Registration and/or related experience required. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
