About The Company
CABLE PROTECTION SYSTEMS - MADE IN GERMANY No matter which protective tubing system you require – we can supply the ultimate solution from one source. We offer cable protection devices made of plastics or metal including the appropriate connectors featuring any customary type of thread. Our products are liquid-tight, resistant to solvents and UV light, or coated with silicone. They can be applied at temperatures of between – 60°C and + 300°C and are approved for up to IP69 K. Our cable protection systems protect data lines against electromagnetic impacts and safeguard laser-optical wave guides against physical damage. In a clinical setting, they meet strictest hygienic requirements and are easy to sterilize. So our portfolio covers manifold applications in mechanical engineering, automotive, rail traffic, aviation or even in wind power stations or in the medicine sector. Protective tubings made by FLEXA are applied in technical plants all over the world.

Your Responsibilities


  • Be part of a cross-functional team of data scientists and software engineers.

  • Research, develop and productionalize ML models for distributed energy system including clustering and forecasting.

  • Implement, deliver and monitor well-engineered data driven solutions in our real-time production system.

  • Contribute to define our data science roadmap, and help shape our next generation algorithms.

  • Promote technical excellence, advocate for ML and coding best practices, contribute to our open, data-driven engineering culture, and mentor junior data scientists.

  • Design, implement, deploy, and operate robust machine learning solutions in production.

Your Profile

Mandatory Requirements

  • University degree in a data-driven or analytical field (such as Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related disciplines), with a strong focus on Machine Learning.

  • 5+ years industry experience in Machine Learning time series, or in data science applied to the energy sector or complex distributed systems.

  • Proficiency in software development and software practices (e.g. testing, code quality, monitoring), with strong expertise in Python.

  • Proven experience in delivering and monitoring machine learning artifacts in production

  • Experience working in AWS

  • Proven record of mentoring junior data scientists, leading them to contribute to the organization’s financial performance

  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills

  • You enjoy solving problems and sparring ideas in a cross-functional team with our data scientists, software engineers, product managers and business developers

Skills to Set You Apart

  • Specifically, experience working with large amounts of time-series data.

  • Work experience in energy / trading or similar fields
  • Experience in Linear and Stochastic Optimization

Hi there!

I'm Sebastien Schikora, serving as the CTO at Flexa since the beginning. My diverse career journey has provided me with a range of experiences with a deep dive in the energy industry and the functioning of the grid specifically. In the last years, I was:

  • CTO at KONUX from September 2018 to April 2022, where I played a pivotal role in shaping the company's tech landscape and products.
  • Sr. Manager at Tesla from November 2015 to July 2018, leading the development of energy storage systems and mobile apps.
  • Vice President of Product Development at Networked Energy Services (NES) Corporation from October 2014 to November 2015, launching a new company and product line in the grid digitalization space.
  • At Echelon Corporation,  I held various roles over six years, including Director of Product Management and Development in the Grid Modernization Division.
  • Before my endeavors in the Energy Industry I was working for Hewlett Packard in the Enterprise Software group for a little over 10 years.
I'm all about pushing the boundaries of technology and driving progress in our industry. I spent the majority of my career in the Silicon Valley in California and apply a lot of the methods and drive to my workplace here in Munich.
