Your new role
You'll play a pivotal role in delivering effective Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) managerial and technical support across Sims facilities throughout the SA/NT region. You will develop, implement, and evaluate risk management programs that ensure a safe and healthy workplace - helping to embed safety as a lived value, not just a compliance requirement.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying hazards and assessing risks, including chemical, physical, and process-related hazards
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing environmental health and OHS management plans
- Monitoring and managing programs to minimise workplace and environmental impacts
- Leading root-cause analysis for significant WHS/EHS non-conformances and providing high-level risk ratings to support data-driven decision-making
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, customers, and vendors regarding inspections and EHS data
- Managing worker's compensation claims and return-to-work process
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Environment, Health & Safety (or equivalent work experience)
- 2-4 years experience advising on safety and health in a high-hazard environment; exposure to environmental compliance is highly regarded
- Demonstrated capability in WHS incident investigation and return to work processes
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel across South Australia and the Northern Territory as required
