About the Role

Job Title: Assembly Cell Operator

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY 

Responsible for the safe, quality-focused, and efficient operation of a press and banding tool within an assembly cell environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required in accordance with company policies.


  • Operate within an assembly cell to maintain consistent workflow and meet production targets.
  • Ensure completed assemblies and work areas remain organized and free of excess materials.
  • Load completed assemblies onto pallets using engineered stacking methods to ensure accuracy and stability.
  • Make tags (Router/WIP – Inventory).
  • Perform basic operations required at the assigned work cell.
  • Procure batches as needed and follow priority schedule.
  • Assemble packaging materials as required.
  • Inspect parts and perform required quality checks during the packing process.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of all job-related Quality Objectives, Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions.


IMPACT ON CUSTOMER QUALITY Failure to perform these responsibilities may result in internal or external customer dissatisfaction.


  • Follow established instructions and quality standards.
  • Responsible for the safety of self, team and product from damage and/or injury.
  • Proper set up of dies following current standardized set-up instructions.
  • Insures correct packaging and piece-counts on skids/containers.
  • Proper first/last hit inspections of parts; communicate that the die is ready for the next set or need for repair to the Engineering Manager.
  • Perform accurate reporting of production quantities into MRP (AX) system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production and quality recording, procedure manuals and manufacturing work instructions.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to use fingers, handle, feel and reach; frequently required to 

stand, walk, sit, bend, lift and talk or hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, 

crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific 

vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and 

depth perception.


Work Environment: 

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually loud. 

All proper PPE must be worn in all manufacturing areas and responsible for maintaining PPE 

standards.
