Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.
OVERVIEW:
The Manufacturing Technician will provide daily support and collaboration with production teams during the planning, designing, implementing and maintaining of integrated production systems that ensure the highest level of safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance of our processes and products in the compact equipment industry.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning processes with health and safety policies and regulations.
· Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and instructions.
· Design, fabricate, and maintain manufacturing tooling, fixtures and equipment.
· Assist in the generation of time, cost and resource estimates for proposed projects and participate in layout and workstation improvement activities.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects across multiple departments.
· Work with operations team to continuously improve safety and quality, and to identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase throughput.
· Review and analyze new and existing product designs regarding process, tooling, labor and cost impacts. Make recommendations to improve manufacturability, improve quality, and to reduce costs.
· May perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalence.
· One (1) year of related manufacturing experience.
· Familiarity with computers including MS Office.
· Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
· Hands-on fabrication skills such as plasma cutting, forming, machining, welding, and general assembly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Technical Diploma or Certificate in related field.
· Three (3) years of Manufacturing, R&D, Test or Quality technician experience.
· Experience with industrial manufacturing methods such as laser cutting, forming, machining, welding, paint processes, and assembly tooling and practices.
· Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen concepts and goals.
· Experience with Creo and Windchill or other solid modeling and PLM software.
· Experience with interpreting engineering drawings including GD&T.
