About the Role

Description

Head Start Birth-5 has an opening for a full-time Early Head Start Teacher position working 35 hours per week. Responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of education services for Early Head Start infants and toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years old. Will work in collaboration with a Co-Teacher and Classroom Aide to prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, utilizing research-based curriculum as designated by the Head Start Birth-5 program. This position will complete the required developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings within the required time period. Complete duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, CACFP Guidelines, and Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedures Manual.

Requirements

Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential and have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant toddler development required. LHDC may provide on-the-job training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and experience teaching infants and toddlers preferred. 


Must meet Head Start and Indiana Child Care Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical, and complete an annual T.B. test.
