We are the proud facilitators of Girl Scout camp at five Indiana locations, conveners of thousands of Girl Scout programs with nearly 600 community partners and serve thousands more community members each year at our STEM Center of Excellence and Founders Lodge Event and Conference Center.
What You Will Do:
The Site Manager (Camp Dellwood) will be responsible for maintaining Girl Scouts of Central Indiana camp property where girls can discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges.
The Site Manager (Camp Dellwood) will perform a wide range of maintenance and janitorial duties. Hours and days vary by seasonality:
- Monday- Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Memorial Day – July 31)
- Thursday-Monday hours dependent on rentals (August 1-May)
How You Will Lead:
- Property maintenance and safety:
- Maintain all structures and grounds of camp properties.
- Thoroughly clean and inspect buildings/areas after rental departures.
- Assist Director of Properties in establishing the plan of work for property.
- Purchase needed supplies with approval from the Director of Property.
- On call for after-hour emergencies.
- Equipment, maintenance, and safety:
- Maintain all equipment and tools in safe working order.
- Operate trucks, tractors, and power tools in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain inventory of all equipment on sites.
- Assist in providing high quality programs to girls:
- Ensure the safety of all campsites and structures.
- Check campers in and out of sites, as needed.
- Deliver equipment and supplies to campers, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with program teams to make property and program activities accessible to girls and families.
- Actively supports and promotes the Council’s plan and commitment to program delivery and diversity.
- Seeks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all council operations with positive and creative approaches to challenges.
- Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Embraces fund development as an important component of job-related responsibilities by supporting and initiating fund-raising efforts.
- Ensure that diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated into the daily work of the position.
- Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership.

- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor to meet the needs of the Council.
- Other accountabilities:
- Assist other camps/offices as needed.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and can easily articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years related experience in property management in an outdoor environment preferred.
- Become a member of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Maintain membership through the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana.
- Maintain a valid IN driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
- Must successfully complete pool maintenance certification within 30 days of hire date and maintain certification once achieved.
- Must have experience and be physically able to perform a wide range of construction, maintenance, mechanical and janitorial duties.
- Ability and willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Must have prior work experience or formal training in building and ground safety inspections or related fields.
- Ability to detect mechanical and other problems in vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to accomplish assigned tasks in an organized, professional manner without direct supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Council Requisition Software.
- Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to perform tasks that require walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and moderate lifting (typically up to 60 pounds).
- Ability to sit at a workstation and view a computer screen for up to 2 hours at a time.
- Ability to tolerate regular exposure to seasonal weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and freezing temperatures.
