About the Role

Description

About the Role

The Mortgage Lending Training Specialist is one of the most influential roles on Homewise's lending team, not because you make individual loans happen, but because you make the whole team better at making them happen. You're the person who helps a new processor go from overwhelmed to confident, the one a Loan Officer reaches out to when something in the system isn't behaving, and the steady source of clear documentation when regulations shift or processes change.

You report to the Senior Director of Lending and work closely with the whole home buying team to ensure that Homewise clients have a seamless home loan experience. The Mortgage Lending Training Specialist role brings together two distinct strengths — adult education and system administration — and the ideal candidate will likely enjoy both: the satisfaction of seeing someone master a hard process, and the satisfaction of a clean system that just works.

You May Be a Great Fit if:

  • You've designed and delivered training for adults.
  • You're a strong technical writer.
  • You've been the "power user" or administrator of a complex software system.
  • You're a careful problem solver.
  • You're comfortable in regulated, detail-heavy environments.
  • You communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences.
  • You're a strong collaborator who builds working relationships across departments and takes ownership of outcomes.
  • Spanish-language ability is a plus, since some Homewise clients and staff are Spanish speakers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and delivering training programs from onboarding curriculum to regulatory compliance training for the mortgage lending team.
  • Creating and maintaining training materials, including manuals, job aids, process guides, e-learning modules, and quick-reference resources.
  • Documenting and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mortgage lending processes, keeping them aligned with regulations and Homewise policies.
  • Serving as the primary administrator of Homewise's Loan Origination System (LOS), including configuration, user access, troubleshooting, and staff support.
  • Coordinating with the LOS vendor on system updates and enhancements and translating changes into clear training and documentation for staff.
  • Assessing training needs alongside Homewise’s leadership team, evaluating program effectiveness, and continuously improving content based on what's working.
  • Onboarding new lending staff through structured orientation and mentorship, supporting them until they're fully productive in their roles.
