About the Role

Description

Are you a relationship-driven professional who thrives in the field and knows how to navigate complex environments to get deals done? Do you enjoy building partnerships, working with property leaders, and playing a key role in expanding access to high-speed internet?


At IdeaTek, we’re not just another internet provider—we’re a mission-driven team dedicated to bridging the digital divide across Kansas. Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs)—including apartments, condos, and townhome communities—continue to be a key focus for IdeaTek as we grow our presence in this space, and we’re looking for a Senior Field Sales Service Representative (MDU) to help us scale and strengthen our presence in this space.


In this role, you’ll focus exclusively on MDU communities, identifying and engaging key decision-makers—including property owners, developers, and REITs—to secure Right of Entry (ROE) agreements. You’ll own the full lifecycle from initial outreach to signed agreement, helping IdeaTek expand access and deepen our footprint in MDU environments.


What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and engage property owners, developers, and decision-makers to secure Right of Entry (ROE) agreements 
  • Build and manage a pipeline of MDU opportunities, prioritizing properties based on size, structure, and proximity to existing fiber infrastructure 
  • Track and manage all outreach and activity within CRM systems to ensure consistent follow-up and pipeline visibility 
  • Clearly communicate the value of fiber-to-the-unit (FTTU), including both technical and financial benefits 
  • Address property owner concerns related to construction, building impact, and aesthetics during installation 
  • Monitor local market activity, including new developments and competitor presence, to identify growth opportunities 
  • Represent IdeaTek at community events, HOA meetings, and local engagements to build brand awareness 


What Will Help You Stand Out

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of field sales experience
  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber, solar, or home services industries 
  • Experience navigating property management or HOA environments 
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure or utility-based sales 
  • Ability to position technical solutions in a clear and compelling way

A Day in the Life

You’ll start your day planning your outreach and reviewing your pipeline—identifying which properties to prioritize and where to focus your time. From there, you’ll be out in the field meeting with property managers, visiting MDU sites, and working to secure access agreements.


Some days you’ll be having strategic conversations with property owners about bringing fiber to their communities. Other days, you’ll be attending local events or connecting with partners to expand IdeaTek’s presence. Throughout it all, you’ll be building relationships and creating opportunities that directly contribute to expanding high-speed internet access across Kansas.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:

  • 3+ years of successful field sales experience
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Proven experience working within multi-dwelling environments such as apartments or condos
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with property owners and managers 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a pipeline and drive results independently 
  • Experience using CRM tools and mobile sales applications 
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation 
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while working in the field
