About the Role

Overview

The national offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), based in Louisville Kentucky, serve with mid-councils, congregations, worshipping communities, and partner organizations to carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. Approximately 400 individuals, diverse in race, age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, skills, and more, come together as colleagues to work for a world where justice reigns, peace prevails, and God’s love extends to all people. This community comprises the staff of national entities: the Interim Unified Agency, the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, Presbyterian Women, and the Administrative Services Group.

Position Purpose:  

To provide detailed and administrative support to the Annual Giving team and Associate Director, Special Offerings. 

Roles and Responsibilities (list in order of priority):

1. Presbyterian Giving Catalog fulfillment: Manage inventory, complete fulfillment requests daily, and drive efficiency and process updates as needed.

2. Answer Annual Giving general line, answer calls promptly and professionally through quick and accurate answers, and pass calls to appropriate teammates.

3. Work with Annual Giving Officer to send letters, thank you cards, and all other outreach items.

4. Manage Annual Giving shared calendar (due dates, drops, production deadlines, fulfillment schedules, etc.) and work across SFD to ensure knowledge and awareness of Annual Giving appeals.

5. Provide administrative assistance to Associate Director.

6. Collaborate with the Mission Specialist to manage Annual Giving conference participation and resourcing.

7. Complete all Special Offerings Standing Order returns and updates.

8. Serve as the backup website administrator for all SFD managed web pages. 

Essential Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required. Associate degree and or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

Helpful Skills:

  • Have a deep understanding and commitment to cultural and racial ethnic inclusiveness.  Values diverse groups, ethnicities, genders, communities, cultural constituencies and points of view.  Able to relate well to people from all walks of life and of varying theological perspectives. 
  • Ability to speak one or more languages other than English very helpful.

Physical Requirements:

This is largely a sedentary position; however, it may require bending, standing, and lifting. Other roles of the position require the ability to see, hear, speak, type, write, and move from one location within the building to another while performing tasks. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday. The expectation for in-person or hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office that may change seasonally.
